About

Two decades in the trenches. Still love the craft.

Hi, I'm Eugene.

I started Admin Software with a simple idea: businesses deserve access to senior, hands-on engineering without paying for layers of management, or watching their project get handed to whoever is on the bench.

I've spent more than 20 years building and supporting software in South African retail and corporate environments. That means systems where a bug costs real money at a till, integrations that have to keep running through load-shedding, and stakeholders who want straight answers, not jargon.

Today I focus on two things I'm genuinely passionate about: modern .NET engineering and practical AI integration. AI is the biggest shift I've seen in my career. My job is to separate the real value from the hype, and then build it properly.

  1. Where it started

    Retail systems

Point-of-sale, stock, pricing and head-office integration. I learned early that software exists to serve the business, and that downtime at a till is unforgivable.

  2. Growing up

    Corporate I.T.

Enterprise applications, integrations and data platforms at scale. Governance, security, change management and working across large teams.

  3. Going deep

    Full-stack & cloud

From desktop and WebForms to ASP.NET Core, Blazor, Azure and DevOps. I've lived through every era of .NET, and modernised plenty of it.

  4. Today

    Admin Software

An independent practice combining two decades of delivery experience with hands-on AI engineering: agents, RAG and LLM-powered automation built on solid .NET foundations.

How I like to do business.

Ubuntu in business

Long-term relationships beat one-off projects. I succeed when you do, and I'll go the extra mile to make that happen.

Craft matters

Clean code, good tests and sensible architecture aren't luxuries. They're what keep your costs down in year three.

Curious, always

Technology moves fast, especially AI. I invest time every week in learning so you get today's best practice, not last decade's.

Proudly South African

World-class engineering, built locally, priced for the local market and fluent in the realities of doing business here.

Let's build something

Let's see if we're a good fit.

A relaxed, no-obligation 30-minute call. Bring your problem; I'll bring honest advice.

No sales team, no hand-offs. You'll speak directly to the engineer who builds it.

Load-shedding: Stage 6. Lights out, site still up. That's how I build systems. 02:00:00
